Valantic supports Vinted Marketplace in developing software tools to measure and evaluate greenhouse gas emissions in its logistics network. This initiative was launched by Vinted Go, a subsidiary of Vinted Marketplace, which is an online marketplace for second-hand fashion products, facilitating customer-to-customer transactions.
The main objective of the project was to capture regular and detailed sustainability data. To achieve this, Valantic and Vinted Go developed a software tool to collect and assess greenhouse gas emissions. This tool was tailored to meet Vinted’s reporting requirements and offers a user-friendly interface for easily inputting operational and emission data. The tool provides various views to track results and greenhouse gas emissions per package.
Project Details
At the project’s outset, Valantic and Vinted Go analyzed logistics processes, service providers, and network suppliers. They visited a Vinted Go distribution center to identify all emission sources. Essential data related to energy and fuel consumption, production of locker cabinets, and warehouse and office equipment were collected by Vinted’s logistics teams. Subsequently, Valantic and Vinted Go collaboratively developed a customized software tool to monitor and evaluate greenhouse gas emissions. This tool simplifies data collection, consolidation, and calculation processes while offering various views to understand and track the results.
Emission Information and Digitalization
Thanks to the collaboration between Valantic and Vinted Go, Vinted Go obtained the necessary data to monitor greenhouse gas emissions within its logistics operations. This allows Vinted Go to continually improve its logistics services and enhance environmental sustainability. As a result of this project, Vinted Go can determine the carbon footprint of its transportation services and shape development processes based on this information.
