Fitness Influencer & YouTuber „Flying Uwe“ (1.37 million subscribers on YouTube and over 2 million on Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook) has announced on his social media channels that he will be closing his Smilodox Store in Hamburg due to an expiring lease and a focus on the online shop. He called on his followers to visit the store on Tuesday (07.11) from 5:00 PM onwards, offering them a free item.

Flying Uwe Schüder is one of the owners of www.smilodox.com, a highly popular brand for sports enthusiasts that he founded in 2013, generating high eight-figure revenues.

However, the event turned chaotic as his videos on TikTok garnered over 2.1 million views, leading to an unexpected and massive crowd. Hundreds of fans were on the verge of storming the store, with many traveling from afar and waiting for hours before the official start time.

Other Smilodox athletes and nationally recognized sports personalities with millions of followers added to the crowd, posing for photos on-site. The situation escalated to the point where the police had to intervene, and Smilodox had to cancel the event after two hours due to the growing number of fans besieging the store.

Uwe Schüder commented on his Linkedin account, stating, „The enthusiasm and sparkle in the eyes of our visitors were unforgettable. It shows how strong the connection to our fans is. However, with the growth of our brand, we must take responsibility and ensure that such events remain safe and enjoyable for everyone.“

To ease the disappointment, he announced on-site that Smilodox would launch their #BlackFriday promotion starting from Sunday, November 12, offering 40-70% discounts and special gifts with every order
